Did You
Know?
"Almost" is the longest word
in the English language with all the letters in alphabetical
order. In Iceland there is a law against having a
pet dog! Your heart beats over 100,000 times a
day! "Dreamt" is the only English word that ends
in the letters "mt" Termites eat wood twice as
fast when listening to heavy metal
music.

Why Use H&B Disher
Courier
There are a lot of
different courier companies out there; there can be no
argument about that. However, there are quite a few
compelling arguments that demonstrate why you should
think about using H & B Disher courier to fulfill
your courier needs as they arise. The
number one reason to use H & B Disher courier is
simply because they always put the needs of their
customers first. Knowing that businesses run around the
clock these days, Disher offers 24 hour courier service.
In addition, to make their services as accessible as
possible they have web portals for order placement,
tracking, and to view your invoices.
Customer service is the one through line
that runs through the entire Disher organization. They
believe in taking care of any needs their customers may
have. They will help you find any shipping solution you
require, from LTL shipping to urgent rush delivery
services. They also make sure to keep in contact with
you so you don't get any surprises the way you can from
some other courier companies. Finally,
Disher Courier also realizes that giving great customer
service to you also means giving great customer service
to your clients. They realize that when they are
delivering your packages to a client or customer, they
aren't just acting as a representative of the courier
company, but also of your organization. They will always
be professional and polite, and put their best foot
forward with your clients so as to leave a lasting
positive impression.
Special delivery - Tight window
One of our clients called from his downtown Toronto
location on a typical midweek afternoon about 4pm and
asked "Can you get a courier out to one of our clients
in Oakville by 5 pm?". My response was "I'd be lying if
I said I could guarantee that during rush hour but give
me a phone number and I'll see what we could do". We
immediately dispatched a driver to pick up the parcel
and simultaneously made a phone call to the intended
recipient in Oakville.
Next flight out courier
delivery
We quickly learned that she needed to be at the
airport for around 5:45 pm in order to catch a flight -
and that parcel had to leave with her. We simply
arranged to meet her at Toronto Pearson International
Airport's departures terminal 3. The driver would locate
her by calling her cell phone upon arrival at the
terminal.
Successful expedited delivery
The connection was made, with time to spare,
and the lady made her flight with parcel in hand. And
the best part: we allowed our client to score a few
points with his client!
This is just an everyday
occurrence for Disher Courier: going the extra mile by
making the phone calls when challenges arrive that are
beyond our control.

You Don't Need a Resolution to Have a
Great
2010!

A New Year's
resolution serves no real point. Usually, instead of
achieving your goal, you just end up making yourself
feel bad when you don't achieve it. The vast majority of
New Year's resolutions are failures. If you really want
a better life in 2010, avoid the negativity that comes
with a resolution, and instead, concentrate on just
making some tiny adjustments to your lifestyle where you
can. The results can in the end, be much
greater. Most resolutions have to do with
our health. We all want to be healthier, skinnier,
exercise more, etc. Etc. Instead of phrasing those
desires like an ultimatum, like a resolution, simply
start implementing some changes. You don't need a
resolution to visit the gym every week to get fit.
Instead, start taking the stairs at work instead of the
elevator. You could also find a sport that you enjoy
playing, or set small, achievable goals about walking
more. These are the types of goals that you can meet,
and which can really have a positive effect on your
health over the course of 2010. Remember
to find the multiple benefits in any given change you
make to your life. The more benefits that you can see,
the easier it's going to be to stick with the changes. A
good example of this is the money that you can save,
allowing you to do more things that you enjoy, as most
of our bad habits cost us money. For every time you walk
instead of drive, don't grab fast food, or for every
less beer you buy, you've saved money that you can put
towards something like a family vacation. Good incentive
for cutting back!

Toronto's Winter
On-Goings

Everyone knows that winter in Canada has a fearsome
reputation, but Toronto doesn't get it as bad as the
rest of the country, and February is a month when there
is loads to enjoy in Canada's greatest city. There are
festivals and events ongoing throughout the month that
will give you lots to do during the Toronto winter.
First of all, there are various events
across the city in February that are connected to Black
History month. Heritage, cultural, and arts
organizations all organize events to recognize this.
There are of course three important days
in February which have events around Toronto.
Valentine's Day is a great time to check out some of the
best dining in the city, and the day after in 2010 is
family day, a new holiday in Ontario designed to let
families spend an extra day together. If you feel
adventurous, you can check out Groundhog Day in Wiarton
and see if Wiarton Willie sees his shadow or
not! Besides Valentine's Day, another great
time for dining in February is Winterlicious, a food
festival linked to the WinterCity Festival. The
WinterCity festival has great free entertainment across
the city, and when combined with the great food of
Winterlicious, makes for a great day out in early
February. This year the festivals run from the 29th of
January until Feb. 11th. If you have other
interests, February is home to two great trade shows in
the Toronto area. The Canadian International Auto Show
is sure to please all car enthusiasts, and runs from the
12th to the 21st in 2010. The National Home Show runs
from the 19th to the 28th, and is going to fulfill all
your home improvement or renovation desires.
