Tips to get the most out of your courier
service
How do I get information on my
shipments? After pickup, use our online tracking
tool to follow your shipment as it moves through our system to
final delivery. Your entire shipment moves through our system
with only one tracking number to follow. If our drivers are
running behind schedule or caught up in traffic, you will get
to know that information in real time. We are able to do this
with the help of extra dispatch staff who constantly stay in
touch with our drivers and stay on top of dispatch
times.

Achieve Optimum Health Through Positive
Thinking

The number one reason that people get sick all the
time is that they accept that being sick is a normal, if
not even necessary way of life. We are constantly
inundated by the message that we should be sick.
Advertising for remedies we don't need, preventative
measures, and the confirmation by our friends and
coworkers about this week's novelty bug that is going
around make our bodies constantly in a state of
expectation for the next illness. By
affirming and focusing on the fact that your body is
meant to be healthy, vibrant, and energetic, you help to
preserve your body in that state much more often. At the
first sign of sickness, simply take some vitamin C,
drink some orange juice or chicken soup, and be sure
that you are aware of the fact that you are SUPPOSED to
be healthy, not ill, and the power of your own body and
of your free will can help keep you healthy.
By living a positive lifestyle you can
help prevent the toxins which cause illness from
accumulating within your body. By eating healthy and
maintaining natural diet, by getting lots of exercise,
and by finding creative outlets which help to release
your stress you can help ensure that your body never
gets worn down to the point where it may be vulnerable
to sickness. Remember though, if you do
feel seriously ill, do seek the attention of a doctor.
This mindset is about preventing illness, not curing
existing conditions.

Disher
Courier Reliable and Rapid GTA Same Day Deliveries

Disher Courier is proud to present you the best
offering of any courier when it comes to same day
delivery within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Instead
of simply offering a blanket same day service when you
don't know WHEN your package will actually arrive at its
destination, Disher has created a tiered series of
delivery options, all of which offer different levels of
speed within a same day delivery structure all over the
greater Toronto area.
The fastest service available is the Screamer
(SCR) services. This is as fast as it gets, with the
next driver possible coming straight to your location to
make your delivery. Screamer service availability is
subject to traffic conditions and peak rush hours, but
generally speaking, nothing is going to get your package
there quicker than the Screamer!
Next up is the Direct or DIR service. Depending on
how far your package has to go within the GTA, Disher
will get it there in 60, 75, or 90 minutes. If you have
a little more time to spare, you can go for the Express
(XPR) option which extends those times to 90, 120, and
150 minutes. You also have the option of regular (REG)
service which takes 2,3, or 4 hours, and end of day
(EOD) guaranteed delivery.
Don't forget if you're using any of these shipping
options that cutoff times apply. For XPR service, cutoff
is 2:00 PM, and with REG service it is 1:00 PM. EOD is
cut off at 10:00 AM.

Broker/Employee of the
Month
This month we've
decided to combine our Broker of the Month award program
with Employee of the Month. There are many reasons why,
in our 23 year history, we've survived two other
recessions, technology (the fax machine, email, etc.),
the influx of the Big 3 (UPS, Fedex & Purolator)
into the overnight market, the cut throat industry we
were in the 90's and many other obstacles that were
thrown our way. The main reason is the people we
have on staff and on the roads servicing
you.
Linda Ott is a
perfect example of this. They don't come
more dedicated to their work or more loyal to
their company than Linda has for the past 18 years
or so. She is proud of her work and is driven by her
aspirations to please our clients. She is also the
executive assistant of Roger and Colin and we would
not be able to get half of what we get done without
her.
Recently, Linda
spent one of her evenings working closely with a Telus
CSR to solve an ongoing problem we've had with our two
way radios/GPS systems. The result was tremendous. They
ended up cutting our monthly bill and will
apply an additional discount to future
invoices for the next 6 months for the grief we've
been through.
Congratulations Linda! Keep up the
good
work. |
Canadian
Children Low on Vitamin D

A recent study completed in Canada shows that the
young children in the country are surprisingly low on
Vitamin D. This is the first study to determine the
levels of Vitamin D in toddlers in the country, and the
researchers were not happy with the results. Low levels
of Vitamin D can increase the risk of many different
conditions, including diabetes and even cancer, and the
prevalence of the vitamin deficiency was frightening. A
full third of those who were tested had such low levels
of the vitamin that they would be diagnosed deficient,
while close to half still had levels that were lower
than the recommended amount. There is a
link between the lack of Vitamin D in toddlers and
behaviors which are also linked to other health risks.
For instance, children with a higher body mass index
(BMI), which can also raise the risk for a number of
health issues, were found to be more likely to be
Vitamin D deficient. Secondly, children who snacked
while watching TV, another predictor of the higher BMI,
were also found to be more likely to be D deficient than
those who did not snack in front of the television. The
other finding suggested that children who drank less
milk were also more commonly going to be short on the
Vitamin. The study suggests that doctors and
pediatricians may have to begin paying closer attention
to the levels of certain Vitamins amongst toddlers, as
the situation appears to be much more severe than
originally
anticipated. | |
