Back to School
August is the time to prepare for our children to
go back to school. Do you struggle in August
trying to determine everything you need to do to help
your children go back to school? By starting now
you can prepare for back to school and help your
children ease back into their school schedule
easily.
Start your back to school planning by creating
a family calendar. Help your children get excited
about school by concentrating on the fun events and
writing them down on the calendar. Write down the
school holidays, after school activities, and any daily
events that you need to be aware of during the school
year. The first week of school brings a lot of
schedules and paperwork into the home. Consolidate
all the calendars into one central family calendar and
you will be able to avoid conflicts that will certainly
arise.
You can avoid the first day of school schedule
adjustment, by starting your children on a appropriate
schedule now. Start waking your children up at the
time they will arise for school. You may feel that
is too early to start having your children wake up on
their normal schedule, but by starting them back on
their normal schedule in August, you can help get them
back in the school mindset very easily.
In addition to sleep schedules, start your family
on a meal schedule that will mimic the school
schedule. Your summer meal schedule may vary
greatly from your schools and it is important to help
your children accustom their bodies to a different meal
schedule. You may even need to adjust the time of
summer treats to conform to the more formal school
schedule. If your children are young, they may
find it difficult to switch meal times quickly, so ease
into the change in meal times slowly.
Finally, help you children prepare to return to
school by making the process of preparing for back to
school fun. Before you rush out and start shopping
for new clothes and new school supplies, your children
can work on an inventory of their current clothing and
school supplies. Work with your children to create
lists of the items they need and if your budget will
allow, include a few items they want.
Start now and you will have a stress free return to
school.

Saving Martha
Stewart
To demonstrate that we will do what it takes to
satisfy our clients, Colin V. Woon Sam, President of
Disher Courier, recently delivered a package to Martha
Stewart against all odds and using all available modes
of transportation. The package originated in Toronto,
the destination was New York, and it had to be delivered
before 5 p.m. the same day. With less than 6 hours
available for execution the best possible options to
deliver was to drive from Toronto to Buffalo, take a
plane to New York, get stuck in a cab, board the subway,
run 9 blocks negotiating crowds of people and then make
it to the destination. Needless to say, the customer was
delighted and Disher Courier accomplished what we
set out to do.
We operate round the clock every single day of
the year. Our fleet of vehicles includes cars, wagons,
vans, 5 Tonnes, and LTL, we are well positioned to
deliver your packages anywhere in the GTA with our 6
levels of service, or direct using our Next Flight
Available service.
Disher Courier specializes in Mission Crtical
Services that provide our customers the assurance that
their packages will be delivered on time to any corner
of the
world!

Toronto International Film
Festival
The
33rd Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is less
than two weeks away! TIFF begins on Thursday, September
4 and lasts for 10 days up to Saturday, September 13,
2008. This star-studded event is rated one of the top
film festivals in the world. The main purpose of TIFF is
to present to the public exceptional films produced in
every corner of the world. It is a great opportunity for
people to see films around the world long before they
are actually released. During the event, more than 300
films are screened in theaters across the city of
Toronto.
Some of the
movies that will be premiered at the festival this year
include The Duchess, starring Keira Knightley
and Ralph Fiennes, Secret Life of Bees,
starring Dakota Fanning, and the eagerly awaited world
premiere of Larry Charles and Bill Maher's documentary
Religulous. TIFF gives preference to high
quality, original films.
Festival goers can experience the best in
contemporary cinema by purchasing tickets that are
available in many different packages to suit all
budgets. If you are looking for last-minute tickets, be
sure to check out Best Bets on the TIFF website to find
out which of the following day's screenings will have
tickets available.
TIFF is also auctioning special
film-experience packages for charity. If you are a
winning bidder, a two-night stay at the Fairmont Royal
York, a pair of tickets for each evening stay to a Gala
Screening at Roy Thomson Hall with a chauffeured
Cadillac Escalade, ten tickets to Sprockets Toronto
International Film Festival for Children in April 2009
are just some of the goodies you will
enjoy.
