Ways to Thrive During a Recession
What are some
ways to thrive during a recession? The grim truth is
that a recession causes pain to the average person
and his/her family. Job layoffs and unemployment
are up, the employed can lose work hours,
raises are not given, and benefits are limited. Because
of the lack of money and job security, millions of
people all collectively feel a fear for their lifestyle
and stop spending, which in turn, slows the economy even
further.
But the recession will end and the
economy will come back up. Those with secure jobs, ample
savings, a strong financial sense, and a good
educational background will do well, even in face of
this economic hardship. However, is that
you? Are you debt free, with a nest egg in your savings
account, a distinguished resumé in case you lose
your job with high pay and good benefits? Are your cars
and house paid for along with all bills up to date? What
ways will you use to thrive during the recession?
Like most people, I am sure that is not the
case. And it's okay, we learn from our parents and
educators and if they aren't soaring high in success,
then most likely, we won't either. So then, how do we
stay afloat while so many of our neighbors and friends
are sinking?
Well, we must be smart and
educate ourselves about the different options available
to us on a myriad of areas that affect our daily lives.
There are some great buys in the housing market right
now. Banks are offering loans at all time lows.
Automakers and dealers are offering incentives for
making that new vehicle purchase. You can even pick up
some cheap electronics as fire sales are occurring at
bankrupt retailers and those hoping to stay afloat
during this economic hardship.
Aside
from getting some great deals, what are some ways that
you can thrive during the recession? You can find ways
to spend less each week and earn more money. By
spending less everyday, you provide excess
money for savings, getting out of debt, or having the
money to take advantage of the great deals available
when making a purchase. Before going
shopping for these great deals, padding our savings
account, or paying off debt, we need to learn the ways
to thrive during a recession. Questions to ask yourself
are: How to receive free offers from major stores
and companies on products we buy everyday? Where to
receive free food and meals in our area without it being
charity? How to save on our weekly grocery bill and eat
healthier? How to create a budget and the smart way for
getting out of debt? How to save money at the pump? And
additional ways to make money. Keep studying and
becoming educated, then, we will thrive during the
recession! Author: Shawn

Toronto Ski
Resorts
One
of the things that make Toronto such an appealing
tourist city is the vast array of activities that are
available only a short drive from the city. You have a
major metropolitan center with all of the comforts that
a traveler would expect, including the best hotels,
shopping and dining. And, only a short drive away, you
can find some of the world's best fishing, golfing and
even skiing, as well as just about anything else you
could imagine.
It can take you as little
as slightly over an hour to reach some of the best
skiing in Ontario from the heart of Toronto. Ontario is
dotted with great ski resorts, many of which are easily
accessible from the greater Toronto area. If you head
North, past Barrie for example, you can make your way to
the Blue Mountain ski resort; one of the most popular in
the area. Blue Mountain features a wide variety of
lifts, including four high speed chairs to help keep
lines to a minimum and ensure that you spend as much
time skiing as possible. After all, who wants to spend
their ski holiday sitting in chairs or standing in
lines? In addition to heading North, (where
you will find many resorts, of which Blue Mountain is
just one), you can also head North East. This will take
you towards Oshawa, where you will find the Oshawa ski
club. This is another great resort that is within a
short drive from the heart of Toronto. This kind of
accessibility to activities is what allows citizens of
the city to enjoy great skiing as well as allowing
tourists to experience the fun and excitement of Toronto
while still being able to get outdoors and enjoy some of
their favorite sports, such as skiing. It should be
mentioned as well that both of these resorts, and most
in the area, also feature special park areas and runs
for snowboarders.
