Tips on How to Deal With Your Tax Refund

MoneyHere are some tips on how to responsibly manage the extra money that may be soon finding its way into your life, with estimates suggesting that most people will receive larger tax refunds in coming years.

1. Treat yourself.

Obviously you don't want to see your entire check go up in smoke, but blowing about 10% of it on something that is purely fun for you and your family is well deserved.

2. Eliminate Credit Card Debt

With the highest interest rates of any kind of debt, paying off credit card debt as soon as possible is one of the essential steps in trying to find financial stability. This should be your first priority of repayments.

3. Contribute to your retirement fund

The tax benefits and the benefits to your future lifestyle make this an essential consideration when planning how to allocate any windfall.

4. Put money into savings

Financial planners recommend having enough savings to get you through three months of unemployment.

5. Invest in your children's education

University gets more expensive every year, so making sure that you have money saved for your children's future is very important.

6. Invest in your OWN education

Attaining further education is a great way to earn more money on a regular basis. Depending on your field, this could mean anything from a single course to enrolling in an advanced degree program.

7. Attend conferences and workshops
Conferences and workshops are great venues for networking and meeting with other professionals in your own industry. There is also opportunity for learning and personal growth. Conferences and workshops can get you hyped up to go and try some new things.
8. Invest in Internet Marketing for your local business
While your business doesn't revolve around the Internet, chances are there are people looking for your service on the Internet.  You need to start somewhere.  While a free read, starting on the Internet is tough.  You don't need to spend a dime until you move forward, however learn how the Internet can improve your business by downloading and reading the free 184 page Marketing:  Local Business Online book on Internet Marketing for Local Businesses at

Disher Courier Sales Lead Program

Our drivers are our greatest resource. With this in mind we're trying to take advantage of these circumstances with our Sales Lead Program.

Our drivers are encouraged to subtly keep their ears to the ground and to source out any possible leads that they may happen onto. If drivers secure any leads that results in us acquiring a new account for the company, they will immediately receive $25 for the lead and will receive in sales commissions 3% on all sales on that account for a full year.

Shawn Juma received an additional $1,000 in sales commissions during 2007 for his submission of CBS Outdoor as a sales lead. It was one of those situations where he was in the right place at the right time. He politely asked the receptionist, Jen Fish, if they might be interested in looking at our services. Jen immediately responded saying that she was impressed with the service that our drivers had delivered in the past and had been meaning to approach us. Well as they say, the rest is history.

Yong Sue is our most active driver as far as driver sales leads and has led us to securing Ellis Paper Box, Kruger Products, Grant Signs and Drivertise. Paul Wilson has also aided us with a couple of leads. We would like to encourage our drivers to keep their heads up as the commissions can add up as in Shawn's case, and is more than worth the trouble. In these hard times every little bit counts.
We are also looking to extend a form of the Sales Lead Program to staff, clients and friends where appropriate.

Paris on the Grand River; Ontario's Best Kept Secret

ParisIn beautiful southern Ontario, there is a town named for plaster of Paris that was mined there over a hundred and fifty years ago. The town lives up to its name though, with its picturesque landscape and romantic boutiques and cafes lining its streets. The town is in the Grand River valley, about 75 minutes away from the more populated, busier and louder destinations in Ontario; notably Toronto and the Niagara region.
This hidden gem offers a great combination of outdoor activities like canoeing, fishing, and golfing, while also offering historic buildings within its city limits, such as the Mary Maxim wool-craft shop.

Bed and breakfasts are one of the best ways to experience all that Paris has to offer. There are places to stay further out in the country and along the river which offer a perfect blend of scenery, seclusion and a rustic flavor which help provide the perfect setting from which to enjoy your Paris Vacation.

Paris is also a great place to centralize your journey into everything Southern Ontario has to offer. You have only a short drive to Mennonite country, the beaches on Lake Erie and the aboriginal culture centers of the Six Nations.
